Jorge Fernandez

Jorge Fernandez, contemporary sculptor, lives and works in Miami Fl.

Jorge has been an active member of the South Florida arts community for more than 29 years. In addition to showing in galleries and museums throughout the U.S. and Europe, he has created art for public places. His first art mission came to public prominence in 1986 when he participated as sculptor and designer in an Art in Public Place Project “Ceremony of the Tropics”, a colorful mural in ceramic tiles at the Santa Clara Metrorail station, Miami, together with a Cuban artist Carlos Alonso. In the same year he worked with Betye Saar on his “On our way” installation at the Dr. Martin Luther king Jr. Metrorail station, Miami.
